Photo of the week #3 and what has been going on

The view on the shore from the Vaporetto on a beautiful day that the sky was blue and I had brought my camera.

It has been silent on the blog and there is more than just one reason for that. First the days were too perfect to sit inside and write and even if I tried to I found my mind was empty. Then I hit a little low for a few days, nothing too crazy, but it stung where it stings, when you are stressed and out of control of your days, your work, your lifestyle and your privacy (yeiih, double room!) - well, anything. When at the same time you want to hit the "Fast Forward" and the "Pause" Button.

But things got sorted out (they always do, right?) and now I am slowly finding back to my mojo. I am realizing: More than half of my time here has passed already and I have to ask myself what I want to do with the time that is left since there is hardly any "later" now.

And even though the words here have been sparse here, there is something new coming and I am really excited about it. Like, really really really excited about it. Stay tuned!

Foto der Woche #2: A secret garden

As beautiful as this place is, there is one thing that Venice just cannot give you that my heart is aching for these days: The presence of nature. Forests, wild growing trees, secret gardens, wide landscapes. It puts your monkey mind back in perspective. Thank god my university has a little park where you can hear birds sing and the wind playing with the leafs. This is also where you can find the first little messengers of spring. Elusive & fleeing. I watch them while I try to catch up on my reading and hope for summer.

Photo of the week #8 (well, actually one!)

posted on: Mittwoch, 26. Februar 2014

Two months ago the wonderful Fee and her blogmate-in-crime Juli launched their new Project "Photo of the week", which is a great way to collect small and great memories, remind yourself to always (always!) take your camera and take a peak into the life of all the other participants. I fell in love with the idea right away, but life happened and I totally forgot about it until now and I decided: Better late, than never!

So what you see here is a photo taken on Monday morning (because hanging out at the beach while everyone else is working is totally my life right now, duh!). After a weekend of carnival celebrations and overcrowded places we visited the nearly empty beach at Lido. A light breeze, a completely blue sky and all of this in February. Hell, yeah!

Life is so good right now.
